Comments: This model came to my studio for a portrait session. We tried several poses that just weren’t quite right. Then she relaxed for a moment to think, and this was perfect. I loved the way her glasses slid down her nose, and her hand threaded through her hair. I used a rough watercolor paper that was textured with heavy acrylic gesso. This allowed a lot of underlying colors to show through the top layers of dry brushed paint. I like the way this adds a visual vibration to a quiet image.
