Award winning Contemporary Impressionist painter Dianna Shyne NWWS, will share tips tools and techniques she uses to create dynamic impressionist paintings.
Whether you are a seasoned oil painter, an experienced watercolorist, or new to painting, Dianna will take you through the steps to create vibrant, oil-like paintings from acrylics. Working from still life, and photo reference in preparation for plein air, the student will learn about color mixing, glazes, composition, drying time, paint thickness and edges to create impressionist painting you never thought possible with acrylics.
In this ongoing class, you will be guided step by step through the processes
that will help you develop essential skills while finding your own painting style.

Using the shapes of nature to guide us, we will explore the use of positive and negative shapes to create fun, complex, and graphic images.
Learn how to select a perfect color scheme, and how to manipulate shapes. Textures and special mediums to create intriguing layered paintings.

This class is for all sorts of artsy folks (not just artists) who want to learn how to manipulate the paint and products to create amazing effects and surfaces.
In Artist’s playdate #I we learned about making prints, collage, photo transfer and stencils to add to and embellish surfaces. In this class we will continue by diving in deeper to make the unique aspects of acrylic paint do all the work while we PLAY.
Whether you came to the first play date or not, you’ll learn easy steps to create amazing unique painted surfaces.
Bring your own paints and panels, and I’ll provide all kinds of gells, pastes and “stuff” to add more dimension to the paint.

In this workshop, instructor Dianna Shyne will provide you with the instruction and materials to produce new and exciting effects with acrylic paint. In the fast, fun, and free flowing workshop you will be able to experiment with dozens of ideas to add dimension, depth and interest to your paintings.
Bring your own paints and panels, and Dianna will provide all kinds of gells, pastes and “stuff” to add more dimension to the paint. Work alone or in teams to collaborate and produce painted surfaces more interesting than you thought possible!
